Mark Read, Founder of prompt

Mark is passionate about the role of technology in business. He has been at the forefront of technological innovation in the global, marketing, media and advertising industries for many years. This  led him to found prompt in early 2026 as a forum to bring the most interesting people in the community together. 

In addition to prompt, Mark advises a number of AI companies, and is Chair of Fifty5Blue (previously Kantar Media). He was previously CEO of WPP for 7 years and before that, he spent 30 years working in the media, marketing and advertising industries, primarily at WPP.

He received a CBE in the King’s New Year Honours 2024 list for services to the creative industries, and was made a Fellow of the IPA in 2021 for outstanding service to the advertising industry.  He is an Emeritus Trustee of the UK’s Natural History Museum.
